Spring cleaning, the Challenger 3

Two blog posts in one week!?! Madness!

This post is to let everybody know I’ve been doing some spring cleaning, and I’ve stumbled across several matches I nearly forgot all about.

The Challenger 3: Jonny Firestorm vs. Guido Genatto, is available now as a download in my VOD store. http://jonnyfirestorm.com/vod.html

Guido and I have done several matches since this bout, would anybody care for a best 3 out of 5 series? The match is fairly short (only 11 minutes), so the price reflects that ($15 instead of the normal $25). For all you size queens, it is one of the larger video formats.

As many of you noticed, I had some testing stuff going on with the blog last night. You can see one of the posts is still active but password protected. That’s part of one of the projects I plan on rolling out very soon. Maybe another week or so testing it and making sure it’s set up properly. Then I’ll step to the podium and make my announcement.

I’m heading off now to grab some dinner before I catch the early showing of the Avengers 2: Age of Ultron! The draft is tonight as well, go Pats!

Not quite finished

So that project is not quite finished, but it’s far enough along that I’ll share!

Behold, my own personal workspace.

IMG_9749

It should have been finished up, but my buddy sliced his hand open finishing up the ropes. I was busy at BG East filming matches that day, and the next day I had a 11 wrestlers over to break in the new ring. I still need to paint it, finish taping up the ropes, swap out the turnbuckles for slightly smaller ones, and throw the canvas down to cover the mat. I’m also going to add some backdrops to cover up all the junk in the background, and use some soft boxes for lighting.

I filmed 20 matches on Friday in the new ring. On Saturday I shot up to cage-a-mania (Cameron’s taping) and did a couple more there.

The downside of being so busy this past weekend is my diet went to hell. Falling off the wagon would be an understatement. After eating so well and relatively clean for the past couple months, I can actually feel the difference in my food choices. I feel sluggish, bloated, and gross. I’m about to head to the gym and work off some of the junk. I’m going to wrestle on another pro show this Friday night, and I was hoping I’d look a lot better in spandex.

I’m going to be back in Florida at the end of May and early June. Both trips have been added to the calendar, which I’m going to be updating more frequently.

The NFL draft is this weekend, and I’m anxious to see what the Patriots are going to do. I know the typical joke is “NE trades the 32nd pick”, but with the new rookie wage scale and the 5th year option for all 1st round picks, the Patriots have actually traded UP in the first round (Hightower, Chandler Jones) to grab players. I’m thinking Shane Ray could be a player to keep an eye on. Talent wise he’s a top 10 pick, but some off the field issues and turf toe are supposed to make him fall in the draft. Last year NE used their first round pick on a DT with no ACL’s, so injury history shouldn’t be a major concern. The off the field stuff might be too much, especially coming off the whole Hernandez thing. The Patriots do love their value picks, and getting a top 10 talent with the 32nd pick might be too tempting to pass up. It’s not exactly the biggest area of need on this team, but I wouldn’t complain. They were able to win the Super Bowl without much contribution from their #1 pick last year, so as long as they can nail the next couple rounds, I’d take the risk.

Does anybody have an iWatch, and if so, how do you like it so far? I’ve tried it on, read about it, and still can’t decide if I think it’s a neat gimmick, or totally obnoxious. Having your passbook at your full disposal is kind of neat (apple pay, boarding passes, etc), having maps on your wrist if you’re walking around a new city is something that appeals to me as well. I will never use it as a phone, the idea of speaking into your wrist while in public is horrifying to me (I have bluetooth in my car, or else I’d say that would be a practical use for it) . I can’t imagine reading and responding to emails/texts is very pleasant either, and having it constantly buzz on your wrist seems like it could get old real fast. The fitness uses for it are interesting, but aren’t enough to sway me either way. This definitely isn’t something I need, I’m just trying to figure out if it’s something that would be neat to have and possibly make parts of my day easier.

A little late

I’m posting this a little later than I wanted to, mainly because I’ve been busy this week finishing up a project I teased on my blog at the beginning of the year. I’m starting to see a pattern here, lol. It should be finished up tomorrow and I’ll have photos up in a blog after this weekends shoots.

I’ve been on the injury report all this week as well, thankfully I’m starting to come around now. I was fighting off a bad cold earlier this week and I somehow injured my neck. It felt like a strain, I just know it hurt to move for most of the week. I’m finally able to move it pain free and with full range of motion. My gym goals took a hit this week as a result, but I’ll get myself back on track.

I have a busy remainder of the week. Tomorrow I’m going up to BG East of film some matches with a hot new guy and one of our newest superstars. Friday, I’m doing a small custom match taping, and then Saturday I’m going to hang out with Cameron & company.

Speaking of custom tapings, I’ll have these guys kicking around for a couple days. We might have room to get a couple more matches in. So send those scripts in!

Kayden Keller, Lon Dumont, Dolph Danner, Biff Farrell, Ty Alexander, and of course I’m available as well.

I’m also very close to announcing a couple more projects I’ve been working on. These ones won’t take 4 months to finish, I promise. I’d expect the debut to be in the next couple weeks. Some really cool stuff is on the horizon. Speaking of that, I’ve been talking with Cameron about doing some joint trips together. West coast, the UK, etc. When we hammer out dates, I’ll post them here.

For those of you who haven’t checked out BG East’s latest set of releases, go do so! www.bgeast.com Catalog 108 has been released and it features some hot new hunks and it has one hell of a star studded line up. Heel Bash 1 is probably my favorite of the bunch, it has two hot pros, Chet Chastain and Dolph Danner, who are making their BGE debuts, Guido Genatto (who is quickly becoming one of my favorite heels to watch) taking on Ethan Axel Andrews, and Big Barry Burke squashing pretty boy, Rofl Fulton. Another can’t miss debut is Biff Farrell’s on the Lon Dumont spotlight. Biff’s the prototypical college jock. He looks great, he knows it, but he’s got a little ways to go before he can step in the ring against a seasoned veteran like Lon Dumont and come away with the win. I practiced with Biff a little after he finished wrestling Lon, and he’s going to be a force to be reckoned with once he catches on. Notice I said once, not if. He’s a stud, a natural athlete, who picks up on wrestling very easily. I’d be shocked if he wasn’t a candidate the boss calls up to smash poor unsuspecting jobber boys by the end of the year. Once his skills get up to par, I’d like to have a go with him.

Off topic, but I can’t wait to see this.

That’s it for now Firestorm fans!

Pro match live, progress report

The pro match I wrote about two blog posts ago (Better late than never), has been added to the store. Pro 1: Jonny’s Triple Threat Match is a 10:30 minute download and costs $15. It’s a very different match than you’re used to seeing me in. I play the baby face (good guy) in the bout and have more of an ariel arial based offensive attack. A triple threat match pits 3 wrestlers against each other simultaneously (no tags), the first person to score a pin-fall or submission victory is the winner. There aren’t supposed to be any alliances because of the everyman for himself format, but the heels in this match make a pact to beat me down and double team me every chance they get.

Moving on to the gym update. I feel like I’ve been killing the workouts lately. I prevenatively took this week off from legs because my knee and hip didn’t feel right. It’s feeling 100% now but I’ll still hold off till next week just to be safe. Here’s a picture of me from about a month ago, actually they’re exactly a month old (March 16th).

And here are some pictures of me from yesterday

IMG_9704.PNG IMG_9707.PNG

Besides the crazy hair (I had a hat on working out), you can see the improvements in muscle size and definition. I was actually in better shape late last week but I had one hell of a weekend in Boston. Lol. Back on track now though.

Check out this jobber…

I like to do charity work every once in awhile, part of it involves taking the elderly out. Don’t fret Firestorm fans, Scott Williams didn’t come close to beating me in arm wrestling.

I’ll have another blog post up soon about the upcoming custom match taping and a couple more things I’m excited about.

Stay tuned, same bat time, same bat channel!

Fun in the sun

Florida ended up being a very busy trip. I think I saw the water once, might have been out in the sun once. Not that you’d be able to tell from my non existent tan lines.

I can’t post pictures from the BGE taping, but I will brag about the guys we had wrestle. All of them were studs. I can’t wait to see the reaction people have when the matches are finally released. Two of them aren’t new to the wrestling world and another two are brand new rookies who should be early favorites for some of the year end awards in 2015.

customsmarch1523 customsmarch1510

Of course there were some night time shenanigans as well. My first night in I went out with the boys to a well known local establishment and we got our drink on. Things can get a little out of control when you have alcohol and wrestlers mixed together, this was one of our calmer photo ops.

That being said, it probably wasn’t the smartest idea to have a couple nights of drinking under my belt before we started filming. I was more bloated than I should’ve been, but like I said in my last post. Everything seems to be on track, just gotta focus more on the mid section, and I have been!

customsmarch1517

I filmed a lot of custom matches, I wish I had time to do more. The response I got from my previous blog was overwhelming. I’m still trying to catch up on emails from the trip to let people know that I didn’t have time for their request.

customsmarch1514

I can’t post some of the images from the matches I did for a couple different reasons (imaginations run wild), but I hope you enjoy some of the photos I am willing to share.

customsmarch1518 customsmarch1519

I’m going to be doing another (larger) custom match taping mid to late April, I’ll have the cast posted as they confirm. This time I’m leaving myself plenty of time to fulfill any and all custom match requests that I receive.

customsmarch1503 customsmarch1507

We had several different themes from the matches pictured. Some of them have a theme of me being the leader of a heel cult. Our sole purpose is to recruit new heels (sometimes against their will) and train them in the art of domination. If they’re able to survive their initiation some are promoted to the next rank, others are doomed to forever be the punching bags for the next group of heels in training.

customsmarch1509

We had several low blow themed matches. One with me and Austin Cooper that was very back and forth. Another between Drake Marcos and me that had be busting his bulge the entire time. I had fun, he probably had less fun.

customsmarch1521 customsmarch1512

I also did a sleepers themed squash match where I repeatedly knocked out Austin Cooper with a variety of different sleeper holds.

customsmarch1508 customsmarch1505

The one that I enjoyed the most was probably a custom requested Custom Combat, where I destroy poor Ty Alexander. He was a trooper, he took everything I could dish out. Not with a smile on his face, but he survived. When you’re on the receiving end of a squash match with me, surviving is all you can ask for.

customsmarch1515

When we were done with two very long days of filming, I went out with the boys and celebrated. We went out to dinner and hit up the Manor after. We were separated and not all of us went home together. I hope they had as much fun as I did!

customsmarch1501

I don’t have a lot of downtime, despite what most people think. I was home from FL for about 24 hours before shooting up to Montreal. It was a short visit, I can’t wait to go back though. I love going up, there’s always something fun going on, the people are nice, the food is good. I can’t wait till the weather is a little nicer and walking around the city is enjoyable.

customsmarch1522 customsmarch1502

The new camcorder works great, there’s a slight learning curve that I’m getting accustomed to. As you can see from the photos, we were whited out at times. In the past having too much light in that ring room was never a problem, the camera handles low light situations spectacularly. Lesson learned. I haven’t played around much with the 4K recording mode yet, mostly because the computer I have isn’t equipped to handle the footage. In about a week that won’t be a problem anymore.

customsmarch1513

I had a great week in the gym… at least I think that I did. I stepped up my ab work and have been doing some extra work on my chest and back this week. Next week I’m going to start working in some cardio on my non lifting days, so hopefully the abs will start coming in faster.

If the formatting on this is a little off it’s because I’m doing it from my phone while running at the gym. That’s it for now Firestormers, till next time!

Top dog

I won BG East’s year end award for the “Best Squash of 2014”, I think this is the 3rd year in a row I’ve been involved in the best squash job. My poor opponent was newbie, Nicholas Rush. As soon as the Boss set him in my cross hairs, I was drooling to sink my teeth into him. Just look at the two of us, it was a mismatch from the start.

I don’t recall poor Nicky getting a single offensive maneuver in. I was in a muscle building phase during this match, so I’m a little beefier, but more muscular than I typically am. Despite our appearances, we were the same weight. Nicholas did have a 9 inch height advantage over me though, not that it mattered.

The match has a terrific write up on the BGE website, click here to visit the webpage. Demolition 17 is a fantastic DVD overall. It also features 2014’s top babyface winner, Jake Jenkins. Poor Jake is matched up against the beefy bruiser, Guido Genatto. That match in particular won the “Best ring match and the best submission, of 2014”. Demo 17 has a little something for everybody AND it’s on sale until March 1st! Just to reiterate, best heel, best babyface, best squash, best ring match, and best submission all on one DVD, at a discounted price. It’s a no brainer.

Here’s a fun behind the scenes fact, the visible scratch on my head during this match is a result of an impromptu wrestling match against Jake Jenkins. I forget who else was around but Jake and I both have extensive amateur wrestling experience, Austin Cooper was egging us on a bit and we threw down. It was pretty intense but I was able to get the better of Jake. We all went out into Boston that night and Austin wouldn’t stop teasing Jake about it.

I’m finally back on track as far as dieting and working out go. I’m not sick of eating healthy yet, no cravings and I haven’t had a cheat day…yet. Working out has been a bit discouraging. I know it can take a while to get back to where I was before but it’s very humbling. I’m struggling to put up half the weight I used to and I feel like I’ve been hit by a truck. I think with another week under my belt the level of soreness will go down significantly, my body just needs to adjust to lifting weights again. If I keep at it, I’ll have my abs back by April.

I’d also like to give Cameron Matthews a congrats on finally winning best ass. I’m glad your ass is finally getting the recognition it deserves.

Superbowl Sunday & The Challenger 2!

Deflate this

I don’t think the ball deflation thing is a big deal at all. I think if it were any other team this wouldn’t be a story whatsoever. The fact that the nation has been talking about the Patriot’s balls for the past two weeks is ridiculous. Let’s talk about the game instead.

Patriots 30 – Seattle 21

I think Seattle’s schedule this year was a joke. They struggled a bit early on (as did the Patriots) but the media and Seattle fan base keeps saying the defense really came alive at the end of the year. Oh really? It sure did, I’m sure it’s tough keeping Drew Stanton (backup, Arizona), Colin Kapernick (starter, SF), Mark Sanchez (backup Philadelphia), Ryan Lindley (backup, Arizona), Logan Thomas (rookie backup, Arizona) and Shaun Hill (backup St. Louis) out of the end zone. Kepernick is the only starter in the group and he’s not exactly an accurate passer or great decision maker. The point being is the 0-16 Detroit Lion team (fun fact, Drew Stanton was on that team), could’ve picked up at least one win against this stellar group of quarterbacks that Seattle has faced. To be fair, Seattle has had two good wins all season. Week one against Green Bay and week three against Denver. They did lose to San Diego, Dallas, St. Louis and KC this season. To get to the superbowl they had to beat a team with a losing record (Carolina) and in my opinion, the best team in the NFC, the Green Bay Packers. If Aaron Rogers was playing healthy, Seattle wouldn’t have won that game. By my count still just TWO impressive wins all year.

The Patirots schedule had me worried at the beginning of the season. Turns out, they were a lot better than I thought. Ugly loss to Miami in week one, the next loss to KC (KC fans must be pissed they beat both teams in the SB), Green Bay and the last game against Buffalo (resting so many players basically made this a glorified bye week). NE had a brutal stretch of games from week 4 on till the end of the season. KC is no joke, Cincinnati looked like the real deal at the time (once the Pats put up 43 on them it brought them back to earth), Buffalo and the Jets might not be good teams but those defensive lines are exactly what foils the Pats (see the NYG superbowls), Chicago (not so tough, scary WRs though), Denver (smacked Manning down 43-21), Indy, Detroit, Green Bay, San Diego, Miami (not all around good but still has a better QB than Seattle played down the stretch) and closing out with the Jets and the BIlls. They beat up on a lot of those teams outside of the loss to Green Bay (26-21 thanks to that TD right before halftime), they not only beat, but manhandled most of those teams. To get to the superbowl the Pats had to get by the next best team in the AFC at that time of year at least, the Baltimore Ravens, and they had to embarrass the Colts…. again. I think it was impressive smacking down Denver and Detroit, beating SD, and the Ravens. That’s at least 4 quality wins, I’d say beating Indy twice should add two more to the total but those games were so out of hand it’s tough to justify it.

As far as the big game, I think New England’s offense can match up and put up points against Seattle’s defense. If NE is able to contain and negate Marshawn Lynch they win the game, luckily BB is able to constantly negate the oppositions best weapon. Russell Wilson is a good young QB but I don’t think you can expect him to put the game on his shoulders and throw against Revis, Browner & McCourty, especially with the average group of WRs he has. Those guys are playmakers, and we’ve all seen Wilson throw ugly picks when up against a D that’s good in coverage. For the Pats, Blount and Gronk are the keys to victory. Seattle’s been run on this year, they gave up 100 yards in both playoff games and 6 times during the regular season including all 4 of their losses. In those other games they’ve been lights out against the run, but again like the QBs they’ve played, not much competition against elite RBs here. They’ve also struggled against TE’s, at least ones with decent skills (Antonio Gates torched them in the SD loss, and Witten gave them fits in the Cowboys loss). They’ll be facing the best in the league against Gronk, I fully expect to see some Gronk spikes in the end zone this Sunday.

With two weeks to prep I think BB and #12 have an answer for anything Seattle wants to do defensively. Sherman doesn’t move from his side of the field that much, so you can scheme around that. I’d like to see them toss Gronk out there for a few and see how physical Sherman wants to get against somebody capable of “throwing him out of the club”. I expect to see a lot of motion from the Pats, probably stack up the WRs on one side with Gronk in the slot, that should help the WRs get open. I really don’t expect Seattle to ever have the lead, call me crazy but the Patriots are going to be in control of this game from start to finish. I think a lot of drives will end in FGs though, which is why the score is as close as it is. I think that if Seattle gives the Pats 3 redzone chances like they did the Packers, NE comes away with at least one TD. Seattle’s definitely a good team, and they have the talent to win this game, defensively they can give the Pat’s a hard time with the pass rush, and their outstanding secondary. The Legion of Boom is what makes Seattle great. I just think a healthy Gronk makes all the difference in the world. I also expect Julian Edelman to do something awesome, because he is awesome. SB win #4 for the Patriots, Tom Brady will be the greatest QB to ever play the game and there will be one very happy Jonny Firestorm.

Now onto Firestorm stuff. My diet hasn’t got off to a good start so I’ve basically delayed it till after the Superbowl. I would be doing good for a couple days and then fall off the wagon and then it’s impossible to diet during a Patriots game.

If you’re a member of BG East’s Arena you’ve been treated to some of the photos of my upcoming match against Christopher Bruce! I won’t post any photos of the match yet because it hasn’t been released but here are some portraits of the two of us from the bout.

It’s always fun for me to look back on matches and see how far I’ve progressed since then. I was younger, leaner, still skilled but lacked the real heel mean streak I have now. I remember being so impressed by Chris Bruce, he had been around the block at BG so I knew all about his reputation. Still to this day, I’m a big Chris Bruce fan.

I did a lot of filming last week (15 1/2 hours), mostly for custom match orders but also a couple matches for the Firestorm site. I just released one of the matches, scroll down to see more about that. I’ve also increased the quality and the video size for the VODs (new ones, not the old ones), so you should be seeing me as intended, bigger & better.

I have absolutely no travel plans as of right now. That can change at a moments notice. I’m a little behind on emails but I should be all caught up by the end of the day today.

My gear collection is running low, anybody want to send me something that I would wear in upcoming videos? I could use some speedos (small and medium) and singlets (medium), International Jock has some cool stuff on sale now. I’ve noticed some of you don’t care for the black speedos. With my big project taking up most of my time and resources, buying new gear isn’t at the top of my list. Speaking of the big project, I’m about half way done with it. I’m expecting to debut it in mid February.

Now for the next VOD announcement, The Challenger 2: Jonny Firestorm vs. Riley is now up in the VOD download section. Riley is a rookie to the underground wrestling scene but he’s a very talented pro. When I issued the open challenge for anybody to step in the ring with me, he was one of the very first people to respond. It’s taken some time to set up but we finally locked horns last week and he did not disappoint. He’s cunning, technically sound and deceptively strong. The photos don’t reflect how even the match is but it’s a total 50/50 back and forth bout that ends in a submission.

That’ll do it for now. Go Pats!

PS. Check out this “year end award” that I won for my work on POV 1 – La Sustancia. Thanks Jose, and I hope I can continue to innovate, entertain and tantalize you and the rest of my fans in 2015!

All “heeled” up

Thank you for all the positive feedback, well wishes, and advice. I’ve been feeling much better and to steal a line from one of my top fans, I’m all “heeled up”. 2014 didn’t really end the way I wanted it to, I had some neat stuff planned out that will have to wait till next year. 2015 should be a very exciting year for all things Firestorm. Here’s quick shot of some of the things I’m working on now.

I’m starting my diet and workout program again. I put back on most of the weight I lost last year. Which is a little disappointing but I totally fell off the wagon with my diet. On the bright side, I’ll be able to document my progress (I hope it’s progress at least) and you’ll all be along with me each step of the way this time. The first two weeks are always the hardest for me. I’ve been doing pretty well so far this week, minus a couple beers and buffalo wings one night. If I can manage to stick to it this weekend and make it through next week, my abs will be back in no time!

I was on the road in the Big Apple last weekend. It was just a quick day trip to wrestle a good friend of mine. If my schedule allowed me to have more time that day, I would’ve announced it and beat down a couple more of you jobbers. I did pick the worst day of the weekend to go, between the rain and the snow walking around the city was pretty miserable. I did stop in at McGee’s pub, only to be disappointed I didn’t see Barney Stinson at the bar. I’d like to get back soon and have more time to enjoy myself without as much rushing around.

Speaking of rushing, I’m actually a lot faster than I thought. One of those things I hinted that I was working on is done, so drum roll…… Jonny Firestorm vs. Nate Walsh is available as a download in the store. This is one of my private collection matches. Nate wants to join the brotherhood of the Alpha Dom Omega, but he must survive hell week first. As part of his pledging, he needs to step foot in the ring with me. If he can impress me by taking his beating like a good pledge he might stand a chance of joining us, but if he disappoints me, it’s off to the secret room.

I’m headed down to DC/Virginia this weekend, completely decked out in my Patriots gear of course. This will be the first playoff game at Gillette Stadium I’ve missed in the past 3 seasons. Here’s hoping Tom Terrific can get some revenge for the 2012 AFC Championship game. I really think the Pats are the team to beat this year, definitely in the AFC and I like them over Seattle if and when it gets to that point.

It’s also looking like I could be down in New Orleans for Mardi Gras. Is anybody else going to be down there? I’d be available for limited private wrestling, I don’t want to make it a work trip but I’m not opposed to doing one or two matches.

I’m signing off for now, I need to catch my flight in the morning.

Jonny out.

From my point of view

Every now and again it would be nice if people saw things from my point of view. I’m not a bad guy, I don’t go out of my way to hunt down and destroy jobbers… Ok. Well, maybe I do. BUT, it’s not out of malice. I can’t help myself, it’s my vice. Some like to gamble, I like love to punish pretty boys. I just happen to be in the fortunate position to indulge my vice.

(Pictured above BG East releases: Jobberpaloozer 12 vs. Jake Jenkins, Hunkbash 10 vs. Braden Charron, Ball Bash 2 vs. Reese Wells, Contract 6 vs. Brad Rochelle)

Like when The Boss dangled Rio Garza in front of me. I don’t dislike Rio, I think he’s a great guy, but look at him! How can you not want to punish those pecs, abuse those abs, twist and torture every last joint on his picture perfect, sculpted body?! I don’t want to say I get lost in the moment, because I’m very aware of what I’m doing, I suppose the closest way to describe it would be to say, I’m totally immersed in my work. The look of pain on the jobbers face, the way his body reacts to each hold or strike, the way his muscles strain as he tries to escape. Those are the only things that matter to me in those moments. Each reaction is a small reward for the work I’m putting in. Most times I could quit half way through the match, and I suppose it would be a satisfactory beating, but I’m compelled to finish. I need to finish. I need him, I need you, I need The Boss, and more importantly, I personally need to know that I put all my effort into creating a masterpiece. The jobber helps bring out the best in me, helps me reach my potential. I’d like to think I bring out the best in him. I’d like to think, I help the world appreciate the jobber more. What better way can the Rio’s, the Jake Jenkins, Austin Cooper’s, and Kip Sorell’s of the world be appreciated, than after they’ve been worked over, put on display and left in a heap of sweaty, destroyed muscle?

(Pictured above BG East releases: Wrestler Spotlight: Rio Garza, Hunkbash 11 vs. Rio Garza)

It’s an experience I don’t feel like many can relate to. It’s exhilarating being able to step into the ring and completely dominate another man, impose your will, and have him be helpless to stop you. So that’s why I put my thinking cap on, and tried to think of a way to share it with you. I could try a lengthy text description, a series of photos, maybe some clips of my favorite moments, but that’s been done before. It wouldn’t do justice to the experience. Then it hit me like a clothesline. Point of View wrestling. Point of View 1: Jonny Firestorm vs. Jake “Lorenzo” Lowe, will put you in the ring with me. Literally. For the first time ever, you will experience a Jonny beat down from my point of view. You’ll see the pain rush across Jake’s face with each gut punch. Only to be replaced by awe and eagerness, as I let him crawl up my quads to muscle worship me. You’ll also get to experience life as a jobber when the perspective switches over to Jake’s point of view. You’ll get lost in the moment seeing me cock back my fist and drive it into your abs, you might even feel the impact when I slam you down to the mat. You’ll be able to hear each breath, feel the ring shake beneath our feet, see the holds from each perspective.

(Pictured above Point of View 1: Jonny vs. Jake “Lorenzo” Lowe)

I’m not sure POV wrestling has a big market. Truth be told, I don’t care. I wanted to try to share a wrestling experience with the world, let you see things from my eyes. Or on the flip side, see how hopeless it is to be on the receiving end of things. I wanted to create, break new ground, and push the envelope. Originality and innovation might be another one of my obsessions. Just like my compulsion to give jobbers the beatings they deserve, the beatings they were put inside the ring to receive. I always want to think of a new way to do things, a new way to create or present the wrestling experience. If it sticks, that’s great, if not, at least I’m failing at creating something new.

I’ll warn you ahead of time, this is the first attempt at this type of match. It’s the very first real POV wrestling match ever.  Some other productions might have brief moments of POV angles. Throughout the whole match the perspective changes multiple times. There will be short periods of time where the camera angle is less than desirable, it’s part of the learning experience and they don’t last that long. During those moments there’s still something exciting about the experience. When it’s not the best viewing angle (which you could argue is more realistic, you don’t always have the best view while wrestling), the experience of either me applying the hold, or Jake suffering in the hold is still pretty cool. Not to mention the verbal humiliation Jake endures as he’s forced to worship me, and accept that he’s going to become my bitch boy after the match. The match is slightly over 40 minutes long, unfortunately the POV camera had it’s battery die before the finish of the match (which occurred shortly after it died) but the video ends in a very satisfying way as it is. This isn’t a buyer beware type of warning, I’m very happy and proud of the match as it is, but I wanted to be transparent so nobody felt like they were getting taken for a ride (except during the POV slams). It’s similar to my other “baby”, Custom Combat, it’s a great initial offering and now that I know the in’s and out’s of making it work, the next one will be that much better.

I guarantee this point of view is much more exciting than my current point of view. Which is staring between my computer screen and the ceiling, sick as a dog. So here’s to me feeling better and I hope you enjoy Point of View 1.

Jonny

A quickie…

Who doesn’t love a quickie? After that Patriots win, that’s all I’m going to have time for before I call it a night.

But before we get into all the Jonny stuff… If you email me (info@jonnyfirestorm.com) with proof of a donation of at least $100 to one of the following charaties

https://www.childhelp.org/

I will send you a link to a free match download. You get to do some good and get a free Jonny match, I don’t see the downside. So act now and let’s do some good together before the holiday season.

Now onto all things Firestorm

I’m going to be in the DC/VA area the weekend of January 9-11th. I could extend my trip if anybody wanted to do some private wrestling. I won’t be available on the 10th at all, or the 11th for the first half of the day. As of right now I plan on flying into DCA but I haven’t booked my flight yet so I’m open to switching airports if need be.

I’m going to write about what I’ve been up to in more detail later but I just wanted to get a quick update out for now. I have some exciting things I’m working on, or at least I think they are. I’m still wicked behind on emails, making an effort to catch up and go through them all. I’ve also discovered that a bunch of emails ended up in my spam folder. So some of you should be getting some very late, random responses from me.

The store has been updated with a brand new downloadable match. This match is the debut of a brand new web series called “The Challenger”. I issued an open challenge to anybody who had the balls to step into the ring with me, and Flash LaCash was the first person to step up to the plate. Flash is skilled pro hunk, with a pretty significant height and weight advantage over me. He’s the perfect opponent for me to kick off “The Challenger” series against. We go toe to toe in a 20 minute, sweaty, back and forth pro battle with multiple submissions and pin falls. The Challenger 1: Jonny Firestorm vs. Flash LaCash is available as a $25 download in the store.

Speaking of Flash LaCash, he’s in one of the latest BG East products, Demolition 18. Check it out and let me know who you think did a better job working over Jake Jenkins, Flash or me on the award winning (best squash match of the year),  Jobberpaloozer 12: The works?
