Top 10 wrestlers I’d like to wrestle. Part 2.

This is part two, rounding out the top 10 list. You can find part 1 here.

Club Firestorm members, exclusive members only DVD #3 is available now!

Let’s get right into it, no need for cute introductions. You know what the deal is.

#5- Gary Myers

One time FM muscle stud, Gary Myers

One time FM muscle stud, Gary Myers

Who? He only appeared in one BG East video (Fantasymen 3 vs. Jose), but take a look at him. He’s handsome, he’s built, and he packs that green g-string very well. As funny as it might sound, he probably would be lower on the list if he had done more matches. But his single appearance has made him somewhat of an enigma in my eyes. I hate to make an assessment based off one match, so this ranking is based solely on the possibilities. Even if he never became a dominant muscle heel, he would’ve made one hell of a muscle-boy jobber for me. It would’ve been a pleasure picking him apart.

#4- Kip Sorell

Hunky stud rookie, Kip Sorell

Hunky stud rookie, Kip Sorell

This one obviously applies in BG East land, because this match has happened and is available to download in the store, and there are other exclusive Kip matches available to Club Firestorm members! One of BG East’s hottest Fantasymen, Kip is the total package. All-American boy next door looks, an incredibly ripped muscle body, and a million dollar smile. I’m not sure I can find a flaw with Kip if I tried to. I’m not interested in finding one either. He’s perfect. He needs to be punished for it. When I’m in the ring with Kip I’m only after one thing, his total destruction. It doesn’t matter how much he begs, pleads, or submits, I won’t stop until I’m totally satisfied with my work.

#3- Bass Wallace

Print this out and put it on every milk carton. There's a challenge to be answered.

Print this out and put it on every milk carton. There’s a challenge to be answered.

The Bass Wallace reign as BG East’s lightweight division champ is well documented. His win/loss record is impeccable. He was tough as nails, cocky as shit and could back it all up. Kind of sounds familiar now that I think about it. If you’re a newer BG East fan, you’re really doing yourself a disservice if you don’t check out his body of work in the Private Bouts series. This is another one of those matches that would be a challenge for me. I wouldn’t expect it to be a straightforward clean wrestling match, it would be a dog fight. I expect things would get down and dirty, and I would welcome it. I don’t want to win some finesse wrestling contest, I want to be in a war. Where only the toughest, ballsiest, more ruthless, bad ass wrestler emerges the victor. In fact, this is not so much my #3 entry. It’s a challenge. Bass Wallace if you’re out there, if anybody knows where he is, or how to contact him, tell him Jonny Firestorm wants a piece of him. Anytime, anywhere. I’ll even fly him into Boston to wrestle. No mat, no ring, no video, no problem. Email me- info@jonnyfirestorm.com

#2- The Brooklyn Bodywrecker

BGE's resident leather daddy, s&m, domination master, the BBW.

BGE’s resident leather daddy, s&m, domination master, the BBW.

He needs no introduction, I don’t need to build him up or establish what he brought to the table. He’s established his dominance over every BGE star that crossed his path, he’s been Kid Leopard’s hired gun, he’s a sexual sadist, he’s the ultimate leather daddy. I don’t know if I’d be able to compete with, never mind defeat the BBW. If I were to pull off a victory I’d have to weather the storm, try to push the big guys buttons & get under his skin a little bit, wait for him to retaliate, hope he makes a mistake and capitalize. I’d probably only have one chance. The Bodywrecker is highly intelligent, something that makes him more dangerous than your average bear. I’d be torn between trying to wear him down with chokes and sleepers, or trying to take his tree trunk legs out and turn it into a mat battle. Whatever I managed to do, I would have to be extremely accurate with my attacks, one false move and I’d end up crushed between his thighs, pounded by his iron fist, and broken across his muscular shoulders. Come to think of it, those probably wouldn’t be the worst things he did to me.

#1- Kid Leoaprd

My #1, maybe I angered him enough in the Contract 10 finale to warrant a ring match?

My #1, maybe I angered him enough in the Contract 10 finale to warrant a ring match?

Was there ever any doubt? He’s the man, the myth, and the legend. He’s the ultimate BG East wrestler, the greatest heel who’s ever stepped foot in a wrestling ring, or on the mat. He was never the biggest, but he was sadistic. Between his limitless knowledge of wrestling holds, and his ruthlessness, nobody ever stood a chance when wrestling Kid Leopard. He could bend, twist and stretch his opponents out 100 different ways before they finished putting their boots on. Kid Leopard put gay erotic wrestling on the map. He’s the godfather of this genre. He’s the Joe Montana of BG East. You know what though? I’m Steve Young (I’d rather be Brady, but this analogy works better). This would be the ultimate dream match, each of us similar in style. The holds, the counters, the dirty tricks. Of course I think I’d come out on top, I’m sure the boss would disagree.

So that’s my top 10. Agree, disagree? Who would be in your top 10? Leave a comment and let me know!

New download, custom tapings

I’ve just added a new download to the store. This one is definitely something out of the ordinary for what you’ve typically found on my website so far. The premise of this match is that I’m training to win a gold medal at the Ball Bash Olympics. My previous training partner quit on me, and training solo hasn’t been going so well. Luckily for me, Drake Marcos walks in and volunteers his sack for punishment. Drake took quite the ball bashing, he wasn’t walking right for the next day or two. I’m happy to report, that I did win gold. So his suffering wasn’t in vain. The bashing happens in, and out of his jockstrap. It’s a 27 minute download, available now, in the store for $60 (or $30 for all you Club Firestorm members).

Food for thought. If you aren’t currently a Club Firestorm member, and you plan on purchasing this bout, why not join first? The $25 sign up, plus the 50% discount on the match, will bring the total to $55 spent. Still under the $60 on the main site. Plus, you’d have access to all of the other great content. The two FREE streaming matches this month are Jonny vs. Chace LaChance: the Cult, and the Challenger 3: Jonny vs. Guido Genatto. Plus you’d have access to the other Club Firestorm members only exclusive match, free photo galleries, video clips, discounts on all the other downloadable videos available on jonnyfirestorm.com and exclusive members only blog posts. Just saying 🙂

I had a killer session at the gym today. I hit my biceps and triceps super hard. I wasn’t really amped up to go to the gym today, I couldn’t find any motivation at first. So I threw on a tank top and decided to hit the glamour muscles. After the first set, and seeing how bad ass (I thought at least) I looked with a pump, it was all the motivation I needed to power through the rest of my routine. I finished it off with an ab routine, and called it a day. I’ve rededicated myself to eating clean as well. With all the traveling I did last month, it was hard to keep on top of my diet.

I had a private 2 on 1 wrestling session yesterday as well. Actually, come to think of it, my last two private matches have been 2 on 1 matches. They’ve both been a lot of fun as well. One out in Chicago with Cameron Matthews (at first as my partner, but I double crossed him, and beat him up), and the one yesterday with other wrestlers. In the match yesterday, I KOed my opponent with a figure 4 head scissors, and could’ve easily with my sleeper hold as well. I was making him ask permission to give up, and then depending on my mood, I’d allow him to ask, or deny him his request. It as a fun little game, something I’d like to use in future videos.

I’m also planning another video taping coming up, the date isn’t quite set yet, but it will be in July, possibly multiple weekends depending on availability. But I expect to be seeing Damien Rush, Biff Farrell, and Brute Baynard. All of whom, look more muscular and better than ever. I also think I’ll be seeing Lon Dumont, Kayden Keller, Ty Alexander, and a couple of my pro friends or nameless jobbers. We’ll definitely have time to take some scripts. customs@jonnyfirestorm.com

I’m going to leave things on this note

http://www.gronkspartyship.com

I need to go on this. He’s wrestled his brothers shirtless in night clubs, if I can get a video of me wrestling Gronk…    anyways, till next time Firestormers.

Ringwars 24, FL, CF update

For those of you who haven’t had a chance to check out BG East’s latest set of releases (109.1), you should do so at www.beast.com

You’ll see your friendly neighborhood Firestorm is in action on Ringwars 24, against Rory MacLeod. Truth be told, I don’t recall much about this bout.

I’m guessing it was the start of my gradual decent into my beefier years, hence the singlet. Looking back on it now, it’s not like I was in bad shape. Hell, you can still see abs in this picture!

I think the photo selection on the website is slightly misleading. I could be wrong, but I don’t recall the match being that one sided. I remember feeling that this was a strange bout for me at the time, because I didn’t particularly care for Rory that much. It’s not that I disliked him, but I was indifferent. It’s easier for me to get excited for matches if I have some connection with my opponent, or there’s something about the match that I find interesting. Whether it’s some match type, or personal goal that I want to accomplish. Not that my desire to destroy all who dare to step in the ring with me isn’t motivating enough.

I don’t remember who won, so if you’ve seen the match, shoot me an email and let me know!

I’m also excited to see the release of Guido Genatto vs. Chet Chastain from Fan Fantasy 3. Guido’s an incredible heel (Club Firestorm members just got an exclusive reminder of that), and Chet is one of the best new prospects to come along in awhile. He’s handsome, skilled, has a great body, and the attitude to have long successful BG East career. That being said, he’d be wise to avoid matches like this if he wants a long career. Guido mops the floor with the stud, in what could possibly be the sexiest match that both wrestlers will ever take part in. It’s a must own if you’re a fan of either.

The other match that you can’t go wrong with is Kip Sorell being repeatedly KOed by Zach Reno, in Sleeper Surrender 1. Kip is the epitome of perfection, it’s almost unfair that one person can have that much going for him. So it’s great to see Zach make him suffer for being such a pretty boy.

I just got back from my trip to Florida. It was a busy, but rewarding trip. We filmed a lot of new BG East matches, I was able to get some Jonny matches done, and celebrate with Drake Marcos for his birthday. We went to the Manor for his birthday with a small group that consisted of me, Drake, Kayden Keller, Rolf Fulton, a BGE rookie, and a friend of ours.

IMG_0185

I also updated Club Firestorm with several new photo galleries, free video clips, exclusive matches, and free streaming videos. Expect a CF Members blog soon, with a couple more behind the scenes photos.

I wasn’t able to get any sleep last night, so I’m about to take a nap. Till we meet again, Firestormers!

Florida tomorrow… err… today!

I’m going to Florida tomorrow for a weekend of BG East video tapings, and some of my own as well. I still need to pack my suitcase, I can’t ever seem to get the damn thing packed any sooner than the night before. I have no problem getting the equipment together, but unless the flight is 10 hours away or less, the suitcase is an impossibility.

I’ll have some free time over the weekend to film one or two more custom match requests. I’m not 100% sure about the available roster, but these are the confirmed wrestlers that I have available:

Lane Hartley will also be around.

There will be some others, but I’m not sure of their interest filming custom matches.

Because I’m going to be away frequently in June, I’m going to release the bulk of all the Club Firestorm content right away on the first. Usually it would be spread over some time, but I don’t want to get caught up during the tapings, and not have time to update.

I spent some of Memorial Day with Cameron. I consider him to be one of my closest friends, and whenever we’re together it’s a good time. Here we are trying to decide who gets to roll first in Monopoly.

Well, that about does it for now. I’ve got a suitcase to pack!

My first BG East match

I have a couple of my older blog posts saved and plan on publishing them again periodically. I’m nearly done with another project that should (hopefully) be something very exciting for all you Firestorm fanatics. So then, enjoy this blast from the past!

Most of you think my first match was against Brad Rochelle, in the Contract 6. That was my first match to get released, but I had wrestled several matches prior to that. Now I’m not going to spoil the surprise, and tell you who all my opponents were, and what happened. I will tell you about the first match I ever did for BG East, and my thoughts leading up to it.

I was 19, or maybe I was almost 19. Jeez, I’m already messing up my own story. I swear it will get better from here on out. Either way, the point is, I was still very young, only 2 years into my professional wrestling “career”. Cameron Matthews had been on my case for some time to come do BG East. I was hesitant. Not because of the content but because I was worried it would somehow impact my pro career. I finally decided to give it a go. What’s the worst that could happen? At worst some sleazy promoter doesn’t give me $15 to come wrestle on his crappy show in front of 20 people? I could live with that.

I was very nervous about going to BGE. I didn’t really know what to expect, how the people were going to be, what I would have to wear. At the time, I was a verrrrrrry shy kid. I wore baggy wrestling pants for gear on shows. I just recently started wresting without a shirt on. I know, horrendous gear choice, but it was sort of “in” at the time. Especially if you were a shitty Indy wrestler. Lol.

Cameron agreed to pick me up. I was either carless at the time or my car wouldn’t have made the trip, I forget which. During the ride in, I didn’t really ask much about how this all was going to work. I wanted to, but didn’t want to bring it up for some reason. Besides, we had plenty to talk about with the local pro scene, and our dreams of becoming WWE Superstars. We were nearly at BG East, and I was still pretty nervous about how things were going to go. Part of me expected to pull up to some sketchy looking wrestling bathhouse.

Pulling up to the BGE facility, I was in awe… definitely not a bathhouse. If you know of the facilities or have ever seen photos, you know what I’m talking about. Upon entering, I was greeted by Kid Leopard and the rest of the staff. KL was very personable, and helped put me at ease. We were behind schedule (for those of you who know me, you’re not surprised) so we had to rush through the pleasantries, and get right to work.

The arena had more wrestling stuff in one room than I had ever seen. I had some of the same toys as a kid. Lol. Now it was time for the dreaded gearing up process. I was terrified. I tried on several things, and hated all of them. It wasn’t because he was throwing me in g-strings or anything but I was just so used to wearing baggy stuff, I had never tried on anything this tight. Well, other than my wrestling singlet, that covered a lot more though. I hated the way everything looked. I was pasty white, had razor bumps all over me, not an ounce of muscle and had on these little black speedos with flames on the front. Now that the gear was decided it was onto the match, I was nervous about what I’d be called though. I definitely didn’t want to use my real name, for the obvious reasons.

“Firestorm”, Cameron jokes. I’m assuming the flames on the trunks are what made him think of it. KL agreed, Firestorm worked. Jon is my real name so Jonny was the easy first name. I wasn’t in love with it but at least it wasn’t something like “Rod Steel” or some other typical porn name. Now, I honestly couldn’t picture going by any other name. So big props to Cam for that!

Taking pictures always made me uncomfortable. I never really was photogenic and now I’m in the tightest, smallest pair of speedos I had ever seen, trying to flex my non existent muscle for KL. I couldn’t wait to finish with all the prematch stuff, and get to the wrestling. When I look back at it, I can’t help but laugh. These days (because I’m in shape) I can’t wait to put on some form fitting, sexy trunks and take some pictures. I still don’t think I’m particularly photogenic (not like some of the other wrestlers) but I enjoy it.

Cameron and I warmed up, stretched out a bit. Talked a little shit pre-match, and prepared to do battle. That’s kinda been the fun thing about being friends with Cameron. We both get along very well, but when it comes to wrestling it’s different. Almost like we both have split personalities. It’s understood that whatever happens in the ring, or on camera stays there. One of us might have some bumps and bruises, or a battered ego after, but we don’t (or try not to) let it carry over into our personal life. It was a tough match, I didn’t really “get” what we were going for. I asked for some guidance from KL before the match and he was more than happy to offer up how he’d like to see Cameron tortured.

It wasn’t a squash job by any means. I don’t think I was capable of such a thing at the time. It was a tough match with some good back and forth. I won’t spoil the match by revealing details. I haven’t watched the match in quite some time, but looking back on it, I think you’ll be able to tell I was a Indy wrestler doing BG East. I approached and treated the match like I would any other on a wrestling show. It was go, go, go. I wasn’t methodically inflicting pain, and punishment on Cam like I would now. I tried to be a bad ass, but I had never been a heel before! I was always interested in being a heel, and felt like it came naturally to me. More so than faking the baby face role. Once it’s released, I’d like to watch it, followed up by something recent. Just to see the difference and evolution of my wrestling style.

Post match, I had a nice chat with KL. We got along great. He said I’d be welcome back if I was interested in continuing by BG East career. Obviously I took him up on the offer and the rest is history!

Not quite finished

So that project is not quite finished, but it’s far enough along that I’ll share!

Behold, my own personal workspace.

IMG_9749

It should have been finished up, but my buddy sliced his hand open finishing up the ropes. I was busy at BG East filming matches that day, and the next day I had a 11 wrestlers over to break in the new ring. I still need to paint it, finish taping up the ropes, swap out the turnbuckles for slightly smaller ones, and throw the canvas down to cover the mat. I’m also going to add some backdrops to cover up all the junk in the background, and use some soft boxes for lighting.

I filmed 20 matches on Friday in the new ring. On Saturday I shot up to cage-a-mania (Cameron’s taping) and did a couple more there.

IMG_9750

The downside of being so busy this past weekend is my diet went to hell. Falling off the wagon would be an understatement. After eating so well and relatively clean for the past couple months, I can actually feel the difference in my food choices. I feel sluggish, bloated, and gross. I’m about to head to the gym and work off some of the junk. I’m going to wrestle on another pro show this Friday night, and I was hoping I’d look a lot better in spandex.

I’m going to be back in Florida at the end of May and early June. Both trips have been added to the calendar, which I’m going to be updating more frequently.

The NFL draft is this weekend, and I’m anxious to see what the Patriots are going to do. I know the typical joke is “NE trades the 32nd pick”, but with the new rookie wage scale and the 5th year option for all 1st round picks, the Patriots have actually traded UP in the first round (Hightower, Chandler Jones) to grab players. I’m thinking Shane Ray could be a player to keep an eye on. Talent wise he’s a top 10 pick, but some off the field issues and turf toe are supposed to make him fall in the draft. Last year NE used their first round pick on a DT with no ACL’s, so injury history shouldn’t be a major concern. The off the field stuff might be too much, especially coming off the whole Hernandez thing. The Patriots do love their value picks, and getting a top 10 talent with the 32nd pick might be too tempting to pass up. It’s not exactly the biggest area of need on this team, but I wouldn’t complain. They were able to win the Super Bowl without much contribution from their #1 pick last year, so as long as they can nail the next couple rounds, I’d take the risk.

Does anybody have an iWatch, and if so, how do you like it so far? I’ve tried it on, read about it, and still can’t decide if I think it’s a neat gimmick, or totally obnoxious. Having your passbook at your full disposal is kind of neat (apple pay, boarding passes, etc), having maps on your wrist if you’re walking around a new city is something that appeals to me as well. I will never use it as a phone, the idea of speaking into your wrist while in public is horrifying to me (I have bluetooth in my car, or else I’d say that would be a practical use for it) . I can’t imagine reading and responding to emails/texts is very pleasant either, and having it constantly buzz on your wrist seems like it could get old real fast. The fitness uses for it are interesting, but aren’t enough to sway me either way. This definitely isn’t something I need, I’m just trying to figure out if it’s something that would be neat to have and possibly make parts of my day easier.

A little late

I’m posting this a little later than I wanted to, mainly because I’ve been busy this week finishing up a project I teased on my blog at the beginning of the year. I’m starting to see a pattern here, lol. It should be finished up tomorrow and I’ll have photos up in a blog after this weekends shoots.

I’ve been on the injury report all this week as well, thankfully I’m starting to come around now. I was fighting off a bad cold earlier this week and I somehow injured my neck. It felt like a strain, I just know it hurt to move for most of the week. I’m finally able to move it pain free and with full range of motion. My gym goals took a hit this week as a result, but I’ll get myself back on track.

I have a busy remainder of the week. Tomorrow I’m going up to BG East of film some matches with a hot new guy and one of our newest superstars. Friday, I’m doing a small custom match taping, and then Saturday I’m going to hang out with Cameron & company.

Speaking of custom tapings, I’ll have these guys kicking around for a couple days. We might have room to get a couple more matches in. So send those scripts in!

Kayden Keller, Lon Dumont, Dolph Danner, Biff Farrell, Ty Alexander, and of course I’m available as well.

I’m also very close to announcing a couple more projects I’ve been working on. These ones won’t take 4 months to finish, I promise. I’d expect the debut to be in the next couple weeks. Some really cool stuff is on the horizon. Speaking of that, I’ve been talking with Cameron about doing some joint trips together. West coast, the UK, etc. When we hammer out dates, I’ll post them here.

For those of you who haven’t checked out BG East’s latest set of releases, go do so! www.bgeast.com Catalog 108 has been released and it features some hot new hunks and it has one hell of a star studded line up. Heel Bash 1 is probably my favorite of the bunch, it has two hot pros, Chet Chastain and Dolph Danner, who are making their BGE debuts, Guido Genatto (who is quickly becoming one of my favorite heels to watch) taking on Ethan Axel Andrews, and Big Barry Burke squashing pretty boy, Rofl Fulton. Another can’t miss debut is Biff Farrell’s on the Lon Dumont spotlight. Biff’s the prototypical college jock. He looks great, he knows it, but he’s got a little ways to go before he can step in the ring against a seasoned veteran like Lon Dumont and come away with the win. I practiced with Biff a little after he finished wrestling Lon, and he’s going to be a force to be reckoned with once he catches on. Notice I said once, not if. He’s a stud, a natural athlete, who picks up on wrestling very easily. I’d be shocked if he wasn’t a candidate the boss calls up to smash poor unsuspecting jobber boys by the end of the year. Once his skills get up to par, I’d like to have a go with him.

Off topic, but I can’t wait to see this.

That’s it for now Firestorm fans!

Fun in the sun

Florida ended up being a very busy trip. I think I saw the water once, might have been out in the sun once. Not that you’d be able to tell from my non existent tan lines.

customsmarch1516 customsmarch1511

I can’t post pictures from the BGE taping, but I will brag about the guys we had wrestle. All of them were studs. I can’t wait to see the reaction people have when the matches are finally released. Two of them aren’t new to the wrestling world and another two are brand new rookies who should be early favorites for some of the year end awards in 2015.

customsmarch1523 customsmarch1510

Of course there were some night time shenanigans as well. My first night in I went out with the boys to a well known local establishment and we got our drink on. Things can get a little out of control when you have alcohol and wrestlers mixed together, this was one of our calmer photo ops.

That being said, it probably wasn’t the smartest idea to have a couple nights of drinking under my belt before we started filming. I was more bloated than I should’ve been, but like I said in my last post. Everything seems to be on track, just gotta focus more on the mid section, and I have been!

customsmarch1517

I filmed a lot of custom matches, I wish I had time to do more. The response I got from my previous blog was overwhelming. I’m still trying to catch up on emails from the trip to let people know that I didn’t have time for their request.

customsmarch1514

I can’t post some of the images from the matches I did for a couple different reasons (imaginations run wild), but I hope you enjoy some of the photos I am willing to share.

customsmarch1518 customsmarch1519

I’m going to be doing another (larger) custom match taping mid to late April, I’ll have the cast posted as they confirm. This time I’m leaving myself plenty of time to fulfill any and all custom match requests that I receive.

customsmarch1503 customsmarch1507

We had several different themes from the matches pictured. Some of them have a theme of me being the leader of a heel cult. Our sole purpose is to recruit new heels (sometimes against their will) and train them in the art of domination. If they’re able to survive their initiation some are promoted to the next rank, others are doomed to forever be the punching bags for the next group of heels in training.

customsmarch1509

We had several low blow themed matches. One with me and Austin Cooper that was very back and forth. Another between Drake Marcos and me that had be busting his bulge the entire time. I had fun, he probably had less fun.

customsmarch1521 customsmarch1512

I also did a sleepers themed squash match where I repeatedly knocked out Austin Cooper with a variety of different sleeper holds.

customsmarch1508 customsmarch1505

The one that I enjoyed the most was probably a custom requested Custom Combat, where I destroy poor Ty Alexander. He was a trooper, he took everything I could dish out. Not with a smile on his face, but he survived. When you’re on the receiving end of a squash match with me, surviving is all you can ask for.

customsmarch1515

When we were done with two very long days of filming, I went out with the boys and celebrated. We went out to dinner and hit up the Manor after. We were separated and not all of us went home together. I hope they had as much fun as I did!

customsmarch1501

I don’t have a lot of downtime, despite what most people think. I was home from FL for about 24 hours before shooting up to Montreal. It was a short visit, I can’t wait to go back though. I love going up, there’s always something fun going on, the people are nice, the food is good. I can’t wait till the weather is a little nicer and walking around the city is enjoyable.

customsmarch1522 customsmarch1502

The new camcorder works great, there’s a slight learning curve that I’m getting accustomed to. As you can see from the photos, we were whited out at times. In the past having too much light in that ring room was never a problem, the camera handles low light situations spectacularly. Lesson learned. I haven’t played around much with the 4K recording mode yet, mostly because the computer I have isn’t equipped to handle the footage. In about a week that won’t be a problem anymore.

customsmarch1513

I had a great week in the gym… at least I think that I did. I stepped up my ab work and have been doing some extra work on my chest and back this week. Next week I’m going to start working in some cardio on my non lifting days, so hopefully the abs will start coming in faster.

If the formatting on this is a little off it’s because I’m doing it from my phone while running at the gym. That’s it for now Firestormers, till next time!

Top dog

I won BG East’s year end award for the “Best Squash of 2014”, I think this is the 3rd year in a row I’ve been involved in the best squash job. My poor opponent was newbie, Nicholas Rush. As soon as the Boss set him in my cross hairs, I was drooling to sink my teeth into him. Just look at the two of us, it was a mismatch from the start.

I don’t recall poor Nicky getting a single offensive maneuver in. I was in a muscle building phase during this match, so I’m a little beefier, but more muscular than I typically am. Despite our appearances, we were the same weight. Nicholas did have a 9 inch height advantage over me though, not that it mattered.

The match has a terrific write up on the BGE website, click here to visit the webpage. Demolition 17 is a fantastic DVD overall. It also features 2014’s top babyface winner, Jake Jenkins. Poor Jake is matched up against the beefy bruiser, Guido Genatto. That match in particular won the “Best ring match and the best submission, of 2014”. Demo 17 has a little something for everybody AND it’s on sale until March 1st! Just to reiterate, best heel, best babyface, best squash, best ring match, and best submission all on one DVD, at a discounted price. It’s a no brainer.

Here’s a fun behind the scenes fact, the visible scratch on my head during this match is a result of an impromptu wrestling match against Jake Jenkins. I forget who else was around but Jake and I both have extensive amateur wrestling experience, Austin Cooper was egging us on a bit and we threw down. It was pretty intense but I was able to get the better of Jake. We all went out into Boston that night and Austin wouldn’t stop teasing Jake about it.

I’m finally back on track as far as dieting and working out go. I’m not sick of eating healthy yet, no cravings and I haven’t had a cheat day…yet. Working out has been a bit discouraging. I know it can take a while to get back to where I was before but it’s very humbling. I’m struggling to put up half the weight I used to and I feel like I’ve been hit by a truck. I think with another week under my belt the level of soreness will go down significantly, my body just needs to adjust to lifting weights again. If I keep at it, I’ll have my abs back by April.

I’d also like to give Cameron Matthews a congrats on finally winning best ass. I’m glad your ass is finally getting the recognition it deserves.

Fan Fantasy 2, NYC

First, let me have my fan moment. What an amazing Super Bowl! I was one play away from throwing the nearest object through my TV. I know people are saying the Patriots got lucky, and they did. But Seattle was just as lucky getting the ball all the way down there on that bobble catch. So the two plays kind of cancel out. For all you upset Seattle fans, I have this to say…

BG East just put out a new catalog and I’m starring in one of the products. Fan Fantasy 2 pits me against BGE icon, Christopher Bruce.

This match was very early in my BGE career, not quite a heel, not quite a jobber, just an eager young wrestler looking to make his mark. I was super pumped when Kid Leopard called and said I was going to be wrestling Chris Bruce next. He was one of my idols, somebody I never imagined I’d get to step in the ring with. He was always entertaining to me, always very well built and skilled. He went from being a young fantasyman beefcake in his early releases to a beefy muscle hunk as a veteran grappler. It’s hard to keep your appearance up throughout the years (I’ve found that out the hard way, lol), and I admired that Chris Bruce was consistently a stud every time he stepped in the ring… or on the mat. He takes a lot of flack for always coming up on the losing end of things, but he’s good in the ring. There’s a lot of power behind his attacks. He just happened to be up against other high quality opponents.

Let’s be honest, I suspect that in many of his matches he was set up to fail. When you look the way he does, the Boss will often match you up against the biggest, baddest, dirtiest wrestlers around. With his physique and handsome face, why wouldn’t you want to see him get bashed. That’s what pretty boys are for. Looking back on this match now, I wonder what KL’s motives were. Was he seeing if Chris Bruce could put me in my place, or was he grooming me to become the heel I am today?

I vividly remember this match being around the time my BGE career started to take a turning point. I wen’t from the skinny newcomer and soon after this bulked up to be a muscle pro. Chris Bruce taught me some lessons in the ring during this match that I still use to this day.

On a side note, I’m going to be in NYC again next Friday (2/20). As of right now it’s just a day trip, but I wouldn’t mind extending it into Saturday if need be. Email privates@jonnyfirestorm.com if you’d like to schedule a private match.
